How to test com port in windows 7?

I want to test the functioning of this com port. Does any one have idea how to test it? I have information to test com port in wind XP, but don't know about win 7. Can any one help me? Thanks in advance. DEEP.

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, when the port is there it should work though? You could could use a null modem calbe to establish a conenction to another computer with rs232 port. There are several infos on the internet about null modem communication, like this. Iam not sure how it works for windows but should be possible anyway.

Also on internet, Google search engine, whereby I understoodit is not available in windows 7. Web links suggest downloading utilities. Since I am not confidant/sure about the recomended web sites, I did not download & continue.
