How to use serial port in WinCC?

mtb Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi i want to send/recieve serial data in my wincc runtime, is there any script example for do this? or is there any activeX control that i could add it and use it's event/property for send/recieve data on my PC port? (my connected device is not wincc supported one, so there is no driver such az drivers for some plc's) tanx everybody.

If everything is programmed in a compatible way it will work but I don't know what this method is ! I recommend using something like Omniserver for serial communications. This is because scripts in WinCC should be used scarcely. In my mind communications should be done using the Tag Management Editor and not the Script Editor. Of course this is just my opinion and not arule[8)] If you need a scripted solution I hope someone else here can help.
