How to write and read with Rf180C and RF340R

first of all, never call a communication block in OB100. The OB100 only runs for one cycle but the Reset block takes more than one cycle to be finished.

My suggestion is to call the Reset block in OB1 cycle and just set the execute bit in OB100.

I just checked the application example. There's a mistake within the documentation about the reset block. For RF180C you need to call the block "Reset_RF300" instead of "Reset_Reader".

Concerning HW_CONNECT input you did right to connect the TO_RF340R.

in case of MDS D100 you have to reset the reader with parameter "TAG_TYPE" set to "1". TYPE 0 is for RF300 transponders, TYPE 1 is for MDS transponders. To check if you've chosen the right value you could just hold the tag above the reader and see it's color changing to orange, even without a read operation called.

Also make sure to set the start address ("ADDR_TAG") and read length ("LEN_DATA") of the read block.

Note: If you have a factory new TAG then all the bytes (except for the UID) are "16#00".

If you want to make sure to read "something" you could read the UID (8 byte unique identifier):
ADDR_TAG = 16#FFF0
LEN_DATA = 8

Can you set execute to TRUE and let it remain in that state? In this way you can check the STATUS output. We need to know the status code.

Also you connected the parameters to digital in- and outputs. Is that necessary?  Because you can't set inputs in the watch table (as you can see, your input "executeResetReader" = FALSE). You'd need to "force" them in a force table.
Nevertheless I'd suggest to use some variables from a custom DB to control the reader blocks.
