I am not able to browse accessible nodes?

Hello All,

did you found solution to this problem ? I am using TIA Portal v14 (all updates installed using the official updater) - not able to browse accessible nodes but once I have the address I can connect without problem.

I am running on Win7 64bit with SEP Version 14 (14.0 MP1) build 2332 (14.0.2332.0100). I have contacted our IT department to help with the issue, they want to know what they should put in the exception list, which device, process, open some port ?

Please advise !

how are you connected to the CPU? any Router or Switch?

Have you tried the solutions that were already given? Anti-Virus-Scan? Firewall?

I am connected to the CPU directly with patch cable. I can't disable the SEP, our IT asked for firewall logs which I sent, but no relevant data in it.

IT guys need exact instruction about which ports to open, where to add exceptions ? It should be all provided by Siemens I think, but couldn't find some document describing it.

which are those services, which are the ports. I am missing those information to provide to IT.

Some services need to be opened to allow the network scanning to work.  Or, hard-code the port numbers and assume the port #'s never change (which they may very well never change).

there are no Ports used by Searching for accessible devices.

Searching for accessible devices is a MAC-address-broadcast. this happens on Layer 2 of OSI-Modell. Ports are used on IP-Layer 4.

Thats why I ask you to deactive the anti-virus-scan. Anti-virus-scans are often blocking the MAC-address broadcast. Check the anti-virus-scan for Network-protect functions, or something else.

This issue was fixed for me by our IT security engineer by temporary disabling the symantec. However I think that Siemens should be stressed to find solution to this, disabling the SEP every time someone needs to browse accessible nodes is ridiculous.

I don´t think that Siemens needs to be stressed about it.

What can Siemens do, when you use an other programm that disturbes the services that Siemens need.
