I can´t change the CPU in hardware configuration

I have a old project and I want to change the CPU 317 for the new CPU 319. I´m going to hardware configuration and then I try to do it, but this one not appears. There is an attachment picture. What is the order number (MLFB) of the New CPU you want to use and also the version of STEP7 you are using? Check if the new CPU can be programmed by current version of STEP7 . To do the changes, make a copy of the old project.Modify the hardware (Keep the old settings for CPU and network) and then compile it (you may loose the blocks here).Copy the blcoks from original project the revised version. Hope to be helpful. Regards Thank you very much!!! The number of the CPU-319 (6ES7 318-3EL01-0AB0) and the version of Step7 5.5. I can see this CPU in my Hardware and I can create a new program with that, the problem was when I trying of change the CPU in an old project. hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 10/11/2024 Posts: 6852 Rating: (1365)	Hi Also check this from Online help of STEP7 Alternative: After you have selected a slot of a module rack, you can open the context-sensitive menu (right-click) Insert Object or Replace Object to view a list of modules you can insert. This feature saves you the search through the Hardware Catalog. You select from all the modules that are listed in the currently available catalog profile. You can only exchange "compatible" modules. If the modules are not compatible, you have to delete the old module, insert the new module, and assign parameters to it again. STEP 7 uses an appropriate message to acknowledge an attempt to exchange modules that are not compatible. Example: You cannot exchange a CPU with parameters assigned for a CPU with a new order number - the entire parameter assignment (for example, the MPI address) will be adopted by the new module.
