I/O access error!

Imran_Ahmed Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	I am having a problem in troubleshooting an I/O access error? CPU 315 - 2 PN/DP with IM153 on profibus In diagnostic buffer It shows I/O access error and the CPU blinks SF & BF1... On removing IM153 from profibus BF1 goes but SF remains... How should I remove this error & restart the process? Please if any one could help me out with this?

When going online, can you see the IM and it diagnostics ? Have you checked the profibus cable and the connectors (have a close look at the terminating switches) ? Can you attach the diagnostic buffer for evaluation?Regards, Marcjan

Imran_Ahmed Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Yes the process was running before... When I go online It shows some fault on IM153 (red slash) & on analog I/O module... After removing IM153 from hardware config. bus fault gets cleared & the system fault remains

nandgate Posts: 319 Rating: (9)	I/O access error occurs when you use an invalid or nonexistant address in your PLC program (especially analog address). Cross check the addresses used in your hardware configuration and program and try to find out if there is any mismatch. That should solve the issue provided the module is healthy.

And because you don't have a "healthy" profibus connection with that module is receiving a error message and SF and BF is blinking. SO, return back and connect IM151 to profibus, check the connectors and cable. If downloaded hardware configuration is corresponding to real (existing) hardware, it should be OK. Check the power supply, bus connector for the Analog module. Otherwise this may be failure of I/O module.
