installing new analog card without affecting te existing system

Antony Lau Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am new to the Siemens S7 -300 system, I would like to import a new 2 channel analog card to the existing S7-300 system. What would be the steps for making the changes? Thanks a lot

Better put the CPU in STOP mode. (In all cases you will need after to pass via STOP when downloading the new hardware configuration). 3. Then add the analog card to S7-300 rack. I hope there have a spare pleace. You could check it in Simatic Manager - >Hardware Configuration. 4. Make the wiring of analog module. 5. Prepare the new hardware configuration in Step7. Do not forget eventually to assign type and addresses of the analog inputs. Download the new hardware configuration there using Simatic Manager. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Also ,note You can operate a maximum of 8 modules in a rack.The number of modules may be limited by the maximum permissible current per rack, which is 1.2A. Regards

Thanks you Antony You have some options: 1-Download the whole station while you save and compile the H.W config 2-Save and compile the Hardware and Only dowload the system data in Blocks folder More information check chapter 19-"Downloading and Uploading" of this manual;
