Hi, I am working with the industrial wireless current sensor which is easy to interface with raspberry pi but I need to interface with IOT2020 to make power management system of high tech machines use in spare parts industry and send sensors data to the cloud. These sensors are using mesh module to create a wireless sensor network using private topology, I need to know the best way to communicate IOT2020 so that data will be sent to the cloud and will be easy to analyze through a smartphone. Any leads on this will be very helpful. |

Hello, Would you connect this device to a raspberry pi over a GPIO shield? The IOT supports Arduino shields, so this might be an option. Kind regards! |

Hey, thanks for the reply at the end point of the controller, I am using mesh modem which receives the data and connected to raspberry pi via USB. If I use the Arduino controller instead of raspberry pi, can you suggest some sample example which helps me to create the wireless sensor network connect with IOT easily? |

Hello, On its website it says this device requires ftdi drivers for a communication over virtual com port (VCP). Since ftdi_sio is part of the linux-cip kernel (kernel of IOT image 2.2) you can probably use this device over USB of the IOT too. Connect it to the IOT and check if its recognized as described here. How do you wish to read the values of the device? Node-red or a C-Program maybe? I noticed there is a recipe for libftdi in our yocto build environment, so you could add this library to your image and write a c-program if you like. But you would have to build your own IOT image which is quite time-consuming. If you want to use node-red you could possibly read from a serial input. Kind regards! |
