IPC227E crash

dr_leu Member Joined: 3/30/2022 Last visit: 4/1/2022 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	We have three Siemens Simatic IPC227Es in use that keep freezing randomly while in use (within one to seven days of uptime). The screen is completely frozen, LEDs RUN/ERROR/MAINT are red, and LED PWR is green. System logs simply cut off at the time of the crash with no system errors apparent. Specifically, we are using three SIMATIC IPC227Es (6ES7647-8BB21-0MA1) with linux (xubuntu-18.04.5-desktop-amd64). These have "bay trail" processors (Intel Celeron n2930), 4GB of RAM, and a CFast card with 16GB space. We are using a standard 24VDC 120W 5A industrial power supply. We have eliminated disk space (7.9GB free out of 14.9GB) and power supply as possible causes (measured 24V at the Nanobox PC inputs and tried running the IPCs on uninterruptible power supplies). We also tried disconnecting USB devices (mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc) so that only the power supply and the network cable are connected and nothing else. Despite these measures, the crashes continue without any explanation. Does anybody know how we can find out more about the cause of these crashes or how to prevent them?
