Is it possible to download a file using Html Browser?

Hello Everyone Happy New year!

I have created a webpage hosted on a pc in my local network where i want to download some spreadsheets. 

Using a normal windows browser i can download and access all the files, but using the wincc runtime html browser when you try to download the files an error pops up saying that the requested page could not be found.

I tried accessing other webpages but download wasnt available on them either with the same response.

Is there some kind of workaround to this? The idea is that i am creating an sql database and i host the queries and a live update of the sql table on the webpage and i want to add an export to excel function to the page which works on a normal browser but returns an error on the runtime browser.

I am using a pc application of wincc runtime advanced with tia portal v17.0

Hi Gdim93,

As far as I know, the HTML browser control object of WinCC supports only simple HTML pages.Maybe thats why you are not able to see the content for your web page.

Just to make this sure, you could create a basic HTML page and try to access it from the WinCC html browser.

I can access the webpage i see the live update of the sql table and can make my queries the page so far works just like on a normal browser.

The issue is that when i try to download the sql table into an excel file a function which works in a normal browser i can't.

I also couldnt download for example gsd files from the danfoss site with the same error that the requested page could not be found (while it obviously works on a normal browser)

So i wanted a confirmation that downloading isnt avaliable via the html browser of wincc or that there is some kind of workaround that i could do to make what i want happen!

I think i got your issue now. Is your html browser configured with ActiveX support or as "based on WebKit engine? You can check this within its properties. Try to change its type and after check if download is possible.
