"Locked" HMI screen?

Wanted to add a couple of buttons to the root screen (renamed Main) after working with the program for a few days, and the screen wouldn't accept any objects from the library. I could drag a button to the screen, but couldn't drop it there. So after failing to figure out why this was happening, I deleted the screen, and rebuilt it using the templet .. a great TIA feature i discovered. I'm using V11 SP2 update 5, and the HMI was a 6inch basic Anyone ever been locked out of an HMI screen for making changes? Thanks, Regards Michael

Lamboom Posts: 90 Rating: (0)	Hi William .. Yes, it was quite interesting .. this was a fully functioning program, that was working fine.. Actually it was your latest solutions for controlling that Command Table in the LinMot driver/controller (E1130-DP) ... I just wanted to add some buttons (like error acknowledge) I was able to add anything from the "Tool Box" .. but everything I tried from the Library .. flew back to the Library when I dropped it on the HMI screen. Naturally, being a newbie, I assumed I had somehow "locked" the screen. Never found any way to unlock it .. so I deleted it. But, in the process, discovered "templates" .. don't know why they're there.. unless it's for what I figured out to use to restore the old screen. long as I have you ... is that what the templet is for?
