Logo 8 Getting started

Hi I just buy brand new 6ed1052-1md00-0ba8 (Logo 8) PLC and a USB-PPI logo cable from tradeindia.com,

I am a embedded system hobbyist and fond of exploring embedded system things such as microcontrollers, FPGAs/CPLDs etc, but this time I want to try PLC.

Now my problem is that I am a pure newbe to PLCs,

I have a 12 V 1A DC adaaptor can I use it as PLC power supply? and input for switches?

How to program my Ladder logic, function block to my plc using PLC Cable (USB) and Ethernet cable. ?

Please guide me how to get start with my PLC?, is there any step-by-step tutorial? because I googled tutorials, getting started but i am confused.

You can use the logo 6ED1052-1MD00-0BA8 with 12VDC or 24VDC. But not mixed.

For programming you need the software LOGO! Soft Comfort V8. You can make your programs in LAD and FBD.

The communication of PC and Logo via a standard Ethernet cable, not with USB-PPI cable.

Hi thanks for your reply, actually my college lab has Logosoft 7 (not 8), is it not possible to program my plc with logosoft 7 (I don't want to purchase logosoft 8)

Please tell me is my USB-PPI cable is useless, pls tell me clearly if the cable is not necessary (prog can be done using ethernet also) or i cannot use the usb-ppi cable to program my plc ----- i.e., should i return it back to the saler

The Logo 0BA8 can only be programmed with the current software version. 8 Here you can download the free upgrade to V8.

Or use the update feature of LSC V7 under Help > Update Center.

First of all:
There is no USB-PPI cable, but is a USB-Logo cable. This need for Logo to previous versions 0BA7.

Secondly,
I've written twice that Logo 0BA8 has only an Ethernet port, so you will need an Ethernet cable.

OK actually i am a absolute newbe in plc, i made a mistake to buy USBlogo cable!

OK my 12V DC adaptor written over its rating panel it has 1A current is it safe to use?

and before getting my plc show in logosoft8 it requires that i power it by my 12 V adaptor (+ in L+ and - in M slots)

pls don't mind my silly questions ----- i am a absolute newbe in plc

i just want a safe first start, i don't want to burn my plc
