Logo Cable - Unable to access the IP Address COM3

Hello.

I recently changed my notebook and I just loaded a new copy of LogoSoft Comfort V8 since I need to maintain a series of LOGO! based project I've done in the past. My previous notebook broke down. I had LogoSoft V6 installed there.

I installed everything following the instructions and when I tried to connect to the LOGO! using the serial cable I've been using before I get a message saying: "Unable to access the IP Address COM5", being COM5 the com port for my USB->Serial adapter.

I also tried installing the software in a desktop with a real serial port and when I select to connect through Serial Cable instead of EThernet and select the proper COM port I get the same message. Of course, on the desktop the COM port was COM3 instead of COM6.

Any ideas about what am I doing wrong?

This should be something very simple, although I can get the software to connect to the LOGO! using the serial cable.

BTW, all the LOGO! I've used so far are either 0B0A5 and 0B0A6.

Both notebooks have Windows 7 64bit.

In the previous notebook I had LSC V6 and now I just installed LSC V8 in the new one (I don't have the installers to install the old version).

Old LSC V6 didn't support ethernet connectivity, so there was no option but to use serial communication.

I don't think the problem is the usb-serial adapter because I also installed LSC V8 in a desktop with a real physical RS232 port and got the same error trying with that port, so in that case there was no usb-serail adapter at all although the synthom was exactly the same.

I googled the problem and saw some comments about setting the interface under TOOLS-OPTIONS, although I see nothing about interface under TOOLS-OPTION in LSC V8.0.0

I did think the problem might be the USB driver, so I used a desktop PC with a physical RS232 port so I made sure I didn't need to deal with any usb driver. Even under this situation I got the exact same ewrror message, so I don't think it's related to the usb driver since there was no USB port involved in that case.

It's also very strange the error message itself "Unable to access IP address COM3", why is it talking about an IP Address and a COM port on the same line? that sounds at least weird.

If you have not physically removed the old software it might still be there. The new installations do not always remove the old software. It is worth checking.

Also ensure that your Java runtime engine is up to date and to specification of your PC.

There's no old software since that old software (LSC V6) was installed in a different notebook that crashed and I can't use anymore.

Now I'm working with a new notebook and a desktop PC that never had LSC installed before.

I bought a LSC V8, original form an authorized dealer.

Both computers show Java with the latest version installed (just checked)

i have same problem now 

and i tried everything i can do

i install usb driver and i log to control panel to check and its work proberly

but i still face this problem , can anybody help please ?
