Hi everyone, I have experienced problem with lost of communication between plc and data logger. The PLC used is Mitshubishi model FX5U-32MR/ES. our data logger used to monitor the output of generator. During normal operation Generator is not running even though that the generator is not running we still need the data logger connected to the plc. but intermittently, lost of communication happens between data logger and plc. what we are doing is we just restart the plc by disconnecting the supply of plc and connect again after doing that the communication between plc and data logger restored but after few days the communication will be lost again. Please help me to solve this problem. or may I know the reason of the communication lost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi sir, Please see my answer to your question. I hope this will help. Thanks! What is the comm protocol used by the PLC and the data logger? - MODBUS Protocal. What hardware layer does the comm use? RS-485? Ethernet? RS-232? Proprietary - Use RC32: Modbus Gateway for convert from DL2100(RS-485) to PLC(Ethernet). http://www.wisco.co.th/main/model/rc32 What is the datalogger? Brand? Model? - Brand: Wisco ,Model: DL2100 http://www.wisco.co.th/main/model/dl2100 Is there a communications error log in the datalogger? What does the error log say? - No error log. Have only check sum error. DL2100 will return 'ERR=' to module. |

1. How do you know that the error is a CRC eror? It is important to understand exactly what the reported error is.
Doing so proves that a Master/Client can read a single, known non-zero value in register before connecting the PLC, because it is so easy to change either network or Addressing settings quickly and to see the results. |
