Gogy Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Hello, I am working a procject that includes Data blocks, but i never worked with them, a know some basic stuff about Step 7 , and programming with STL and FBD.... I found pdf called Programming with step 7, and i learned how to enter data into data block. Now i want to use this data for some calculations... I will work with FBD. Is there any manual for this? Please i want to learn about this, it is very imporant for me and my project. Thank you, Goran.

I will work with FBD. Is there any manual for this? Please i want to learn about this, it is very imporant for me and my project. check following chapters in this manual : chapter 11-Creating Data Blocks chapter 12-Parameter Assignment for Data Blocks You may know these basic material about data blocks but the easiest way is to find the whole address is to get the starting point of the variable. Ex1: Data block 1, data type real, starting address18 = DB1.DBD18 Ex2: Data block 1, data type WORD, starting address22 = DB1.DBW22 Symbol addressing is another possible ways and help you to only write names instead of addresses.consider you defined symbol "motor1" to DB1 and in the DB1 editor you select "speed" to double word started from byte#18. So yo can write "motor1.speed" instead of DB1.DBD18. BR

Gogy Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Ok, I have this manual, and i already read this chapters. And I entered my variables into Data block. Now, i have few questions... This address that is shown first, is it the address where this variable starts?? Am I correct?? So if I have a variable which is array, and has 10 elements, Type REAL, and address is +46.0. That means that first element is on this address?? How can i know the address of second or third element?? And if I want to take some element from one of the variables, and connect it to some block... I dont know, example on the ADD block... how do I do that?? Do I write something like DB1.DBD46 ??? Sorry If my questions are confusing :) Goran.

If the starting address there is 46 (type real) the next is 50. Look like first DB1.DBD46 and second DB1.DBD50 ... DBD (double int or real ) - 4 bytes DBW (int...) - 2 bytes ... I am workin this project for my college, where we have siemens PLC 314, but now are holidays, so i can't work there another week. Can I do this in offline mode only with simulator?? Or i need to do it with PLC?? Goran.

Gogy Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Ok. I have one CPU modul... I don't use WinAC and WinLC, I am using xp sp3, i have OB1 block, and DB1 data block :) So I can do it... Is it a problem, that I am using Step 7 v5.3 ???
