Mass Flow Compensation Calc

John Locke Posts: 28 Rating: (0)	Hi, I need to provide a mass flow compensation based on pressure and temperature, I was wondering if there was any standard/siemens CFC blocks that would provide this function for me? Has anyone got a good example of this or do I need to write my own with SCL? Thanks in advance [:)]

John Locke Posts: 28 Rating: (0)	I have a volumetric flow meter, one temperature probe, one pressure probe ona gasline. I want touse an alogorithim something like this: W = (Qact *( (Pf x T)/(P x Tf) )) x MW x 0.002634 In other words I would like to calculate the mass flow of gas, when I know volumetric flow, temperature & pressure in the line. In other DCS products I have used there was a dedicated block to calculate mass flow, as it appears that PCS7 does not have such a feature, im guessing the best method to achieve this would be to create my own using SCL [:(]

PRK Posts: 38 Rating: (2)	Hi I have developed the temperature and pressure compensation block for steam flow for one of my project. I have tested the Mass Flow Compensation with PLCSIM and field testing is not yet completed. The detail of the formula is in the block comment itself. You can refer to SIPART DR24 Manual for further details of Flow Compensation formula as the same is implemented.
