ala Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	hi evrybody and happy new year for all and I hope everyone get what he had wish: I want to know what is the prancipal and relationship between master and slave supose we have s7-200 as master and other one as a slave what is the benifit of the network .

One station works as DP master and one works as DP slave??? One station works as DP master and one works as DP slave The EM 277 can only act as a Profibus-DP slave. There must be an external Profibus-DP master to make this communication setup work. In a master/slave combination, the master (for example, a S7-315-2DP, using the integrated DP port on the CPU) holds the configuration for everyslave on the network, and polls(queries)every slave cyclically. The master is the only one on the bus with the right to initiate data exchanges (the <token> in Profibus-DP litterature); the slaves can only respond to the master's query, one at a time, and can only send the configured amount of data, or diagnostic information when needed.
