Maximum MPI Stations

MPI networks allow up to 31 nodes in the single (allowed) segment, max. 50 m. at 187,5 kB. This only takes one connection.

Now for the distribution of the 6 available connections shown on page 308 of your manual, you should go to page 309 (see attachment): there are a maximum of 5 OP connections in the CPU 312, and to use them all you need to remove others in the CPU properties (in HWConfig).

So you cannot do your project with the CPU you have planned.

You could look up the details of available connections in the manual you are looking in, or use the dfollowi ng FAQ that condenses the answers you are looking for (remember these are configurable connections, so you must select them in the CPU properties):

to connect all the CPUs in a single MPI network, the easiest way is to bring them all into a single project; you can copy/paste of drag/drop the different CPU progrms into a new project if you like.

However, you will probably have to readdress every MPI node as they probably have some overlap in their different projects. Examine every CPU, CP, FM and connection as you drag them to the new project, Step 7 will let you know about conflicting addressing.Make sure that every MPI address is unique in the complete network before you compile everything and download the projects to the CPU.
