Misuse of the private message facility

I have started to get a number of requests for help / assistance via private messages. Have my my fellow experts also noted this? Users should not use the private message facility for this purpose for the following reasons. 1) It is not what the private message facility is provided for. 2) It limits the advice just to one expert / user. Why limit yourself like this? Surely it is better to get advice from a number of experts / users, as it is not always certain that one person will know the answer. 3) It prevents other users from the benefit of seeing the problem and solution. Thus this means that other users cannot search for a answer to a similar / same problem and so have to ask the question again. 4) If that expert is away (at site, on holiday etc.) then it may take longer for you to get a reply. I beleive more experienced member of the forum should inform the newcomers with patience .This thread and posts here would be a great help and thanks to smiffy to his concise guideline on a common issue. Had one today Just try to give some answers and give advice to post the question at the forum. Maybe it's an idea to create a space on the forum where we can place those questions asked in pm ? Like the import user account, don't now how that is done, regards, Marcjan

We will then publish this question and iform the user which asked the question about it. I think this is the best way to handle with these questions, because they are then open for everyone and the community can see them and maybe the discussion will also help other users. We sometimes encountered that our users write questions to more than only one user. Sometimes the users also ask a question via private message and also publish the question in forum. That would be a problem than when we would have this button. Than the question would be published more than once. So i think it is a good idea that we moderators publish the questions, because we know which questions were already published. Best regards O_Moderator

Dear O_Moderator I think having a button like "Inform Moderators" would be benificial for a easier access to Moderators in "Private Messages" section.I mean the button inform the corresponding moderator to publish the question which is not asked in public. I think this is a good solution for that. With this you could forward the received message to us and we could publish it. Best regards O_Moderator
