MM440 MILLIAMPS PROBLEM

shubham.mehta Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I am facing some problem in reading milliamps from field to drive MM440 terminals,4 milliamps are coming from field and drive is showing 0.57 milliamps only on PARAMETER (r752),and i have only milliamps source only from field,please tell me what is the problem as i am not able to understandand how tosolve this problem. thankyou

shubham.mehta Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Thankyou for your reply,i have already read this parameter list but the problem is that drive is not reading the actual milliamps from field ,to read the milliamps from field the parameter is (r752).and this parameter r752 is not showing correct value. regards

eisenpferdreiter Posts: 1058 Rating: (93)	Parameter r0752 shows input of ADC either in Volts or in mA. If configured to Volts you will see wrong numbers. Also there are two ADC channels (index 1 or 2). Parameter P0756 defines if input is 0 to 10 V or 0 to 20 mA you need to set this Parameter to 3, which means 0 to 20 mA with monitoring. Again there are two channels(index 1 or 2) Be sure you use the right channel. To switch over from voltage to current analog input it is not sufficient to merely modify parameter P0756. Rather, the DIPs on the terminal board must also be set to the correct position. The DIP settings are as follows: - OFF = voltage input (10 V) - ON = current input (20 mA) Also check P0753 - Smooth time if there is a very big value set, you might also experience wrong numbers. Parameter normally should be lower than 10. greetings

shubham.mehta Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	From field i am getting 4 milliamps which i have checked from multimeter and drive is showing 0.57 milliamps on parameter (r752) on index 1 as cable is connected on terminal (10-11) i have also replace the cable on teriminal (3-4) same result is showing on parameter r752 index 0,i have set the parameter p0757 (4mA) and p0759 (20mA)rest no alarms no messages on drive dispay. thankyou

PISCEAN 2010 Diamond Member Joined: 4/23/2010 Last visit: 12/31/2023 Posts: 8092 Rating: (878)	If you are getting perfect out put as per the set point from drive & no any abnormalities are observed, then I suspect the acuracy class of multimeter which you use to measure input current.

shubham.mehta Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	sir,multimeter is not showing exact 4 milliamps it is showing 3.86-3.90 mA around and drive reading 0.57mA as i have mentioned earlier.

The red circles show what you are measuring (measuring point), the green circles show possible influences on parameter r0752. If anything else is working properly, thereare only following possible error sources, as you can see in the picture: > terminal input: wrong terminal or input on terminal twisted > ADC-type in analog section: wrong DIP switch setting > ADC-type in digital section: wrong parameter P0756 > Smooth time: wrong setting of parameter P0753 Your problem should be one of the possible errors listed or a combination of them. Parameters P0757, P0758, P0759, P0760 etc. have no more influence on your measuring point.
