MMC card Formating

Naveen_30mar Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear Friend, Memory erasing means you are going to delete program, and Memory Formatting means you are going to "reset factory setting" of your MMC. But do not format it with card reader.

I made FAT as well as FAT32 format and in both case MMC card was working fine, so in my view we can format MMC card.

Hello,

Of course you can to format the MMC. But if you speak for "Siemens MMC" like

after formatting, you could use these cards only in your photo camera not in Siemens CPU.

poya_xp Posts: 167 Rating: (4)	there are two system file on the SIEMENS MMCs that when you format them this two file will erased and after that you can not use MMC on the CPUs and also as i know reviving The MMC is hard and almost impossible.that is why UMENCHO has said you can use it just in camera not CPUs.

It'll be good if someone can share, just in case! Hello, Resst MMC means: Delete all user data. Fromat MMC means: Delete every thing on the MMC which includes the user data and also system files. So what is the rason that make any user format the MMC? As Umencho's tells that there are always ways to do any thing. But why we go for format the MMC and then try find a way how to restore the system files?!!

IBN-Service Posts: 8946 Rating: (999)	If you like to use standard MMC as SIMATIC - MMC, it will not be possible, as far as I know. Also, the SIMATIC MMC use different memory control to give them a longer live. So, even if the price is higher, you should use the original Siemens - equipment and you must not format one of this MMC! There are also a lot of other threads concerning this topic, just use the search - function.
