Hi, With a Multidrop bus system (RS485) you can put all 13 slaves on the RS485 bus parallel. Give all slaves there own address and with the Modbus master driver you can program for all slaves the software. Please consider that Modbus communication is not fast, so you can imagine that you haven't fast respons times with 13 slaves. [;)] You need at least the following components: CP341 module: 6ES7 341-1xH01-0AE0 (x:= A: RS232; x:= B: TTY; x:= C: RS422/485) This card is always supplied with the installation CD for PtP communication. Single license (MODBUS master): 6ES7 870-1AA01-0YA0 This delivery package includes the installation CD for retrofittable MODBUS master driver, documentation and a hardware dongle for the CP341. {6ES7341-1CH01-0AE0 + 6ES7870-1AA01-0YA0} [8)]

dangerous Posts: 35 Rating: (1)	Hi NF, I am no Siemens expert however as I understand it you have 13 modbus slaves on a single RS485 network. I think you need to have a separate connection ID on the NETPRO config for each of the slave devices. As well as adjusting your modbus command to suit each slave, you may need to cycle through the connection IDs in your software so making them sequential might help! Also, you may need to change the pointer to the destination area so that the data you are reading does not overlap. I have done something similar in the past using BSEND (SFB12)and BRCV (SFB13). I hope this is of some help to you.

Hi Mrs. N.F., On your earlier question how to programm this, you have to call 13 times the same block only with other parameters and first do slave 1 and then if the slave have given it's answer you get to the following one {is the easiest to do, first make it for two slaves and then copy it several times for the other slaves}, or you make it so that the last call is finished without or with errors and then you change the parameters for the next slave. [;)] In NETPRO you can give in "Other Station" and give that station a PtP communication port.... [:P]
