MP 377 - Cannot download

MP377 HMI panels. both are communicating with the same CPU and have identical programs ( Different Profibus addresses ) These were earlier programmed with WinCCFlexible 2007. The new program is in WinCCFlexible 2008. We could easily download to the first panel , by doing OS update first and then downloading the WinCC Flexible program However we are not able to download the same program in the 2nd HMI panel. We are able to go upto the Diaglog "The HMI panel needs OS Update .... ". However if we tryto do the OS update , we get an error "Cannot establish communication" Both HMI panels have same settings. Pl advise Thanks Navnag

In this case you can remove the profibus cable of first HMI & then try with second HMI. See the result now.

Pl advise Thanks Navnag Use a USB flash drive to take backup from the first panel and then restore it on the second panel. This should contain the updated OS and the HMI software. To take a backup, plug the USB flash drive and goto control panel -> select backup/restore -> slect backup. It may take a while. On the second panel goto the control panle and select restore.

Pl advise Thanks Navnag Hello Navang, Everything would be exectly identical except address of HMI. Since you are able to download to first HMI without any problem , you are eliminating the doubts of cable , software only the problem is the address of 2nd HMI. Check Address of HMI in the Accessible nodes & try to download it again.

Dear AMAZINGAHMED I haven't tried what you have suggested this but will definitely give it a try. Will this update the OS also. ? Dear Amit_86 SolutionFinder DS SURESH KUMAR Hit_Formula Profibus address is NOT a problem as we have checked the same. We are download the program to the first Unit with any address while we cannot download to the second unit with any address. I have removed the units and connected them directly to the CPU profibus one by one ( WIth only the CPU, HMI and PG connected ). We are able to see the 2nd unit is accessible nodes. It communicated with the CPU with the existing program loaded. It communicates with the WinCC Flexible intitally when we select "Transfer" and displays the Window " The unit requires OS update " . Thereafter it stops communicating. Dear rdoliveira We have tried with Prosame with similar results, We even tried to connect the HMI to PG using a Ethernet cable and tried "Factory Reset" but even that does not work.
