Hello, The discontinuation fase started at 1-10-2012, that means The operator panels remain available on a spare part basis until the time of Product Discontinuation on Oct. 1, 2022 So you have Siemens support untill that date. You can read more about discontinuation steps here: Description of the Product Lifecycle for SIMATIC HMI Products (PLM) Regards, Marcjan |

Hello plc111, no fear, you can use mp277 further. Microsoft did no update of Win CE since some years. Latest mp277 have "old" WinCE OS, all OS functions are healthy and I don't know why an update of OS should be needed. Regarding OS update of WinCE, there is no reason for fear. On the other side, you should consider technical problemswith yor TP277 like faults in touch, faults in display. It's the same problem with old OPs and TPs (77/177) with faulty displays. Check if your software is able to support latest panels. Save your projects correctly, update your software correctly (win 64bit, TIA V13). And then you are able to "switch" to a new panel without problems. Nothing is more embarrassing as when you have to explain to your customer that you have not saved his project... Georg |

Hello, Siemens already announced that it is planed to end production of this panel on 1 Oct., 2014 in the above link, you will found the replacement of this panel is TP1200. And please note that to make migration, you should have the WinCC flexible project. I mean here the configuration file. Hope this helps.
