Already I have seen that document (WinCC V7.0 SP1 MDM - WinCC: Configurations). With that document only I have in Middle of my project. There is no clear description or I'm not able to understand the difference between multi-user system or distributed system. What I should configure for multi-user system and what for distributed system. Both are collasped. Even its very worth document for me. There is no more information about Internal Tags. First I'm going to create new simple project for both multi-user system and distributed system. Hope any one of that system will work for me. Just for a try.

MicroMan Platinum Member Joined: 11/29/2011 Last visit: 10/24/2024 Posts: 1360 Rating: (232)	Hi, MDM - WinCC: Configurations System Manual, 11/2008, Chapter 1.2: Distributed systems with several servers to be configured: clients can access data on different servers with process driver connection. Within a distributed system, each client is individually configured, the necessary server data is imported on the clients and, if modified, can be automatically updated. The process data is provided by the servers. For example: you can have 2 different plant area monitored by 2 different server project. The client actually having access to both of the Runtimes. It is like having access to 2 different plant area. They use this sometimes in big plants where some users needs to have acces to different plants(for example technicians/plant engineers) MDM - WinCC: Configurations System Manual, 11/2008, Chapter 1.2: Multi-user systems with one server for configuration: several clients access the project located on a server with process driver connection. In multi-user systems, it is not necessary to configure the clients as all data is provided by the server. Meaning: this configuration your client only acces to one Server. The way I understand your config, you have only 1 server with 2 clients access. The test project always the best way to clearify things! Very good thinking! I hope I could help! Cheers

Its not work in the Multi-user Project mode. I have several Multi-Users projects running. Each server has up to 16 clients without own project. Never had a problem with internal tags, not on the servers nor on the clients.

bg2492 Diamond Member Joined: 5/16/2014 Last visit: 9/12/2022 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2173)	Hello SelvakumaaR, if you have one Server and some Uni-Clients (Clients without own project), then can you set in the tagproperties for the internal tag the option "Project-wide update". Then the Server and all Clients have the same value in the tag, if you change it on the Server or any one of the Client. But another two Client PC works well with the Internal Tags and my project looks fine on the Client PC. Any settings or configuration needs to modifiy? Single Server with Two more Clients is enough for me. @bg2492: Its not a problem. But I have tried both with no success. Currently I have used "Computer Local Update" option for the Internal Tags.

And its configured as Computer Local Update. Those tags are accessed normal like in the Single User Project. I have using Window 7 Pro on the Server PC. Is this okay for our said purpose?

"UniClient" and"Project-wide update" should solve the issue with the Internal Tag sync issue. If all the internal tags are setted as project wide update, there should not have any issue. This UniClient solution is a bit interesting, but I have to admit I used it as well with Wincc V6. Operating systems. If you run a Server project you should use a server operating system. The stand-alone operating systems can serve clients but they can not have as many connections as servers operating systems. So myabe you get away with it, but they will never work properly. You can check the compatibilty here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22681689 If you still have issue with your tag regarding to the SQL related sccript, please describe how do you run your scripts and how they are access to the tags. Hey SelvakumaaR, at this point it's not quite clear what your problem exactly is about. Please provide us with detailed information (what exactly are you trying through VB scripts from SQL???, what behaviour do you notice on the server, on the clients???). Are your scripts made so they can run from server as well as from client?...)? Did you try to run apdiag.exe to monitor possible errors from your scripts?...
