Naming conventions

For example: when I have pumps i use 10PU01, 10PU02 etc. valves 10VL01, 10VL02, 10VL03 ... high/low level indicators 10LH01, 10LH02 and 10LL01, 10LL02

Popular ones are the ISA tagging system shown here and the KKS tagging system shown here. We have used ISA tagging for years now, but we are currently in the process of moving to KKS tagging. Hope this is what you are looking for.
