My question was split from a previous thread hence the lack of context. I am editing it now. I need to sync one axis of my machine with an external encoder. I am using the Axis Function block and the LMCBasic Library. I am using the command 16#0000_0101 to gear lock the axis but the manual mentions 'The executeGearIn command does not result in axis motion (master at standstill)' So How do I move the axis now? Original Post: I have a similar application in which I need to sync (gear) one of my axis to an absolute encoder. I just need to sync the speed. I'm using the gearIn command 16#0000_0101. The manual mentions that gearIn command does not result in axis motion, so what do I do next? How do I start the axis? Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello, it should be possible with relative gearing. You can do a test with virtual axis. 2.2.1 Gearing Relative gearing With relative gearing (gearingType:=RELATIVE), the synchronous operation occurs relative to the synchronization position on the master value and slave value sides. gearingType:=RELATIVE synchronizingMode:=IMMEDIATELY 2.2.5 Synchronization https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109801519 |
