Anyway I have figured out how to creat a new thread.Here is my problem.I would like to transfer my program from the Wincc to the Plc.It doesn't work and it seems like everything is connected accordingly.Here is the error message 'Could not establish connection. Please check your settings,interfaces,cables etc.!' Well I'll be using my monitor and not the HMI touch panel for the visualization. My config is as follow S7- 300 , CPU 315-2DP will be pleased to give further information if required Many Thanks.

Normaly the configuration of the PLC is made in Step7 application. Can you provide some more information?How is the connection between PC and PLC done? Regards Sydney

Hello Cranky; When you say "transfer your program from the WinCC to the PLC", do you plan on setting up communications between the 2 , or do you have something else in mind? If you want to communicate between the WinCC PC and the PLC, you can choose Ethernet or Profibus. Since you have a CPU 315-2DP, I would think you would want to use the integrated DP port on the PLC to achieve the link. You would then need a communication card on the PC (CP 5611 for example, or CP 5613) with the adequate driver. Profibus cable and connectors between the PC and the PLC, of course. Information on WinCC communications (Profibus amongst others)can be found in great detail in the following manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21320307 Also check the WinCC online help, it is quite a good source opf information. A detailed description of the configuration of Profibus links is available in the WinCC Information System under "Communication > SIMATIC S7 Protocol Suite > Configuring the channel > Channel units > "PROFIBUS (I+II)" channel units"". I have used the S7 to write my program too.The PLC is connected to my PC via the MPI cable and I have done the software connection on the Netpro as well as the HW config. Still there is the error message whenever I try to transfer for the visualization

Look in the manual on chapter 1.2.3 and 1.4 (then example 3.6 is for Profibus but the MPI connection is very similar). Also in the online help dchartier mentioned in "Channel units" you'll find information about the MPI connection. Regards Sydney

cranky Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thanks once more Sydney. My problem is that I have created a project on Wincc by using my S7 program. Yeah true Sydney I can connect to the PLC from the Step7. But the project I have created on the winncc can't be transfered to the PLC. It seems to me like maybe the Wincc flexible I'm using has some problem. Many Thanks

The panel has to be in the "Transfer mode" this depends on panel used. It could be startedfrom the system of the panel orit can switch to transfer mode automaticaly. BTW: the post seems to be in wrong conference...
