You have to take care of the switch configurationso the ring can work without problems with RSTP. If you use fiber optic and want to reduce the number of switches, siprotecs can be connected in ring.

Problem is the SIPROTEC devices that I have just contain Electerical modual and as you know electrical EN-100 modual does not support RSTP. Mike, I assume, The only different between PC and electrical EN-100 is two ports of EN-100 does not work simultaneously and one port is just stand-by; which raise a quastion this two port have the same IP or not? If so it could rase IP confilict of course!

This is the Teamingfunctionality, which has other options as well. The EN100 electrical supports dual-homing - only one link active - and PRP - both active, but both network cannot be connected together. In any case, including RSTP and HSR, EN100 will always have one single IP address. Mike

On the other hand using PRP mode two ports are active and connect to seperated network. In PRP mode, is it neccessery to use manage PRP switches for connect two seperate network to one RTU or server?
