No PG/PC interface in S7 after installation of TIA V13 SP2

Hi,

After installation of TIA V13 + SP2 there are no interfaces available in control panel 'Set PG/PC Interface'

OS is Windows 10 Pro x64

From viewing other threads here I've tried the following:-

Reinstall TIA V13 SP2.

Delete the C:\ProgramData\Siemens\Automation\Simatic OAM\data directory, open cmd (admin) window and run s7epaIMP64x.exe from that prompt (log attached)

But still no joy. Any help would be appreciated, cheers J

Some further information.

In 'Info' tab of 'Set PG/PC Intercace' there is a difference between my machine and a colleagues machine (which is also 64 bit). In my machine the 'SIMATIC Device Drivers WoW' is version K20.01.01_10 etc and in the other machine it's 29.01.01 etc. See attached screenshot of both machines.

I understand these device drivers should be installed/updated during installation but have not been updated in my instance. I tried to manually run the setup.exe & related .msi files for these drivers, which are found in extracted folder \InstData\S7DOS32_64\S7DOS64 and S7DOSWOW folders but these won't install directly as they have to be called via an inbuilt process.

Problem solved.

After raising a tech support request with Siemens and being sent PC_IDENTIFIER (basically a stand alone installation & detection of 'Set PG/PC Interface' control panel applet) I have fixed the issue using the following method:-

• Uninstalled all Siemens applications.
• Deleted all directories called ‘Siemens’ in following folders, including subfolders

C:\Program Files

C:\Program Files (x86)

C:\ProgramData

• Searched through log files to find which CLSID was causing the error, searched through registry and deleted any entries which related to it.
• Also deleted lots of other registry entries with ‘Siemens’ as a search criteria (but not all, used my own judgement & experience to determine which ones).
• Restarted PC and installed only PC_IDENTIFIER software, iinstalled corrctly without error.
• Checked ‘Set PG/PC interface’ in control panel, it is now correctly detecting all interfaces available and SIMATIC Device Drivers WoW now has version 29.01.02
• Installed TIA Portal V13 SP2, interfaces still working.

Would suggest only doing this if you are happy wading around in the registry and I only did this as tech support insisted it was my antivirus (as its not on their 'tested' list)
