Hello ROCLIM, As Daniel has already said, the CPU can address 4096 channel but I highly doubt that you can use them altogether in a single CPU. The problem will be in CPU's memory and also your method of programming. There are also some other issues that make it very hard to have 4096 in a single CPU like bus update time and cycle time. Ifyou compare your CPU (which is no longer available)to the latest 414-H CPU, you will find that Although the latest CPU has double memory and can execute code faster, the addressable area hasn't been changed and it's still (4096 channel) and I still believe that it's not applicable to use 4069 analog channel inlatest CPU. By taking a look at this PCS7 brochure, you will see that they way of programming in PCS7 limits the CPU to the numbers that are written in page 41. I'm sure that any method of programming rather than CFC - PCS7 may give you more than these numbers for the memory capacity this CPU has. But still, the memory capacity still limits the use of the whole 4096 channels. Best regards. H-H |
