Online adapter only shows "Teleservice"

Muldereric Regular Member Joined: 7/29/2009 Last visit: 10/20/2021 Posts: 16 Rating: (3)	Windows 7 Professional 32-bit without SP1 (req. for Step7 Professional V11) At first TIA Portal worked fine, but since a few weeks I am having trouble to get online. Online access only allows me to use Teleservice, the internal adapter or any other adapter as long as it is not a physical adapter. Both my ethernet connection are showing a questionmark in their symbol, saying the adapter state is unknown. Whenever I try to download a program to a PLC and the window pops up to select an online adapter, the only thing I can choose is the Teleservice adapter. I tried everything I could think of besides reinstalling Windows, which is not an option for me. Things I tried: - Repair Step7 V11 (prof) - Repair Step7 V5.5 (prof 2010) - Remove all other option packages - Reinstall all Step7 (2010 and V11) - Update and downgrade ethernet drivers for my interfaces - Running V11 in VMWare - Enable 2 adapters and see if the second one could be used (tip somewhere on this forum) Is anyone experiencing the same problem or knows a solution for this problem. At the moment my software is rendered useless because of this....

To see there what options have? Did you try network card to connect to external hardware in order to checkits healty? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

When trying to run it on VMWare I connected the virtual card directly to a physical card. Both physical network cards are fully functional and operational. Update 1 and 2 are already installed, but have no effect on the problem.

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 15264 Rating: (2422)	Can you recreate your project and copy all the hardware, OBs/FBs/FCs/etc. EXCEPT the PLC/CPU. Add that manuallywith the proper firmware version you are using. Something about that manually adding the PLC/CPU fixes network problems - at least it did for me. Hope that helps.

The ethernet interfaces are showing a questionmark symbol in the "Online Access" section. For more information, see the attached screenshot. Attachment online access.jpg (1359 Downloads)

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 15264 Rating: (2422)	I am running V11 Update 2 using MS XP Mode Virtual PC and mapping the internal network configuration to the network adapter. I typically set a static ip address for the same subnet as my project's PLC. Once I can ping the PLC from the VM, I can get online fine. Can you ping the PLC from within the VM?

PSG Advanced Member Joined: 1/21/2007 Last visit: 9/13/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	I'm having the same (similar) issue. Just installed V11 on a Panel PC with XP Pro SP3. The software only shows Teleservice as an option when attempting to download. Teleservice, MPI, Profibus, and USB are shown as communication options when requesting accessible nodes. Ethernet/Profinet never appears in the list of available connection options. Step7 5.5 on the same machine works just fine. The same configuration on my laptop works. Could this be an issue with the Enet adapter in the Panel PC?

I have seen it fix a few oddities in the past, most recently on my win7->virtual pc->xp mode->TIA Portal.

Just after the repair, PNIE appears as an option on "accessible nodes". When selected however, nothing shows as accessible. If "accessible nodes" is cancelled and then re selected, PNIE has disappeared. Restart V11, reboot PC, and PNIE is still missing and will not reappear until the adapter is again repaired. Step 7 V10.5 on this machine works just fine.
