pontiveros Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	Hi everyone, I'm trying to avoid to use Connectivity Pack. As far as i saw, i can't get data access to the WinCC database without a valid licence as Siemens documentacion states: "Access to WinCC User Archives using Microsoft OLE DB requires a Connectivity Pack license on the computer where the WinCC user archives are located." But, after this they said: "The Connectivity Pack includes licenses for access using: WinCC OPC HDA Server WinCC OPC A&E Server WinCC OPC XML DA Server WinCC OLE DB Provider Microsoft OLE DB" So my questions are: 1.- WinCC OPC DA don't requiera extra licence? 2.- Can i use WinCC OPC DA as data provider for my own OPC HDA Client application ? Regards

pontiveros Posts: 11 Rating: (1)	Thanks both of you, efka, I had a misunderstood on technologies. I need a HDA Server to connect from a HDA Client, right? As Phantom75 's post links explain, i can get DA licence with WinCC RT. Now, I can create my own HDA Server that connect to DA? Best regards

"HDA" is "Historical Data Access" and "DA" is only "Data Access" I'm quite no OPC Expert, but I think you generally can't work with HDA on the one site and DA on the other site. You have to work with HDA on both sites or DA on both sites. best regards
