hello, i have the situation of having worked out a decently complex picture setup in Wincc version 7.0 SP2 now i have stumbled upon a project that needs WinCC version 6.0, i cannot find a way to migrate these pictures ( .pdl files) to this older version. i would REALY like to avoid having to re-write these pictures since it has been tweaked and build up out of numerous customized objects and such. does anyone have any clues on how to solve this?

Hello, As per my knowledge & Practical experience I don't think that it is possible to open the pdl file of Win CC V7.0 to WinCC 6.0. |

In case of WinCC is possible only to make an upgrade to higher version, included opening/editing pdls. Not 'downgrade'. |

Reverse Migration is not possible. . In migration there is only facility of upgradation. . |

I searched that open source yeastarday. Just wanted to show you like an option (honestly it is not). According to me is a much faster to make the screens again included all requested functions and objects. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

sadly i realised this already after a few responses, today i just switched on the turbo mode and i am already half way trough!, luckyly i can open the PDL files in notepad and copy paste script from there and thus saving alot of typing! when i was investigating i found an interesting feature though, you can "unzip" pdl files and it will split into a whole bunch of files that you can open in (notepad for example) seperately. i am not sure if you can freely change there or that there is some kind of checksum over the complete file. but it seemed very interesting! i've got no time to play around with it so back to reengineering

so now i have completely converted the pdl files to Wincc version 6.0, now what are the basic steps to migrate these files to a higher version if needed? simply opening them in a newer version and saving them isnt doing the trick. i want to just migrate my PDL files to a different WINCC project, i dont want to migrate a whole WINCC project.
