mvisconte Posts: 72 Rating: (2)	Dear forum, Once again, I come to you for assistance. I would like to set up a log of operator actions (ie. changes of SetPoint...). I know there is an embeded functionnality in PCS7, called by APL_OperationLog. According to some things I have read on this very forum, I executed the "Message Configuration" in the OS Project Editor. Therefore, I have the message configured in Alarm Logging, which is, btw up and running. But, when I change a SetPoint, the Diagnose window shows: APL_OperationLog: MSRTCreateMsgInstanceWithComment szErrorText = Exception in MSG-API (pIAlarmData->Create(...) failed) / File [CRequestContext.cpp] / Line [2878] Can you please help me understand the reason of this problem? I have tried to look at the source code of MSRTCreateMsgInstanceWithComment, but it looks like it is not available. Thank you in advance for your help. Maxime Visconte

bg2492 Diamond Member Joined: 5/16/2014 Last visit: 9/12/2022 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2172)	Hello Maxime Visconte, the function "MSRTCreateMsgInstanceWithComment" is a so called ODK-function, that means a function, which is more "internal" in WinCC, as the internal or Standardfunctions, you can see in the C-Editor of WinCC. Maybe the following FAQ can you help http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24325381 There is an example (24325381_ISALG_OperationLog.fct) where the function "MSRTCreateMsgInstanceWithComment" is used. mvisconte Posts: 72 Rating: (2)	Thank you for your answer. I am confident that the syntax of the function is correct, since I did not modify the APL_OperationLog function. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the ODK, but, given that the function is called in native PCS7, I think that is not the cause of the problem, is it?

And if you have nothing changed in the PCS7 Standardfunctionality it should work. You may create a Support Request and send the project to the Technical Support for analyzing the behaviour. Dazhi Regular Member Joined: 9/19/2010 Last visit: 8/29/2023 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, i recommond to use the items in the PCS7 library which called "@pcs7elements", the operation log funciton has been configured and sure working. you just copy the function items which you want and use it. for your information, there maybe some error messages if you configure some script by yourself.

I have called Siemens Support, but they were not of any help, just trying to convince me to hire one of their consultants for a day or two. And as for the customed scripts sometimes buggy, I certainly believe it, but I am using the stock siemens pictures! Thank you again,

Disconnect the client from the server and assign the OS server(s) again . Area specific user rights will be deleted so you have to make them again. ConfigureServer Data /Standard server. Alarms and SSM must have a standard server. Regards Jukka
