Option handling for safety modules

Hi,

I am using option handling to manage with a unique sw several hw variants (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/29430270/variants-management-with-simatic-s7?dti=0&lc=en-GB) with a S7-1500 cpu and TIA V13.

I would like to cover with the same technique also safety modules but I can't fully understand which constraints are imposed. The most useful link I have found is this:

In particular I want to configure a ET200SP device where the F-modules will change according to the hw configuration.

If I understand correctly, a F-module (when using a ET200SP):

A - if present and activated, must have always the same slot.
B- if deactivated or absent (and when absent the related slot can not be occupied by any other module) no configuration issues should arise

Am I missing anything? If anyone can point me to an existing example that involves F-modules it would be really helpful.
