Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi Peters, I am a little bit confused - it´s not too clear to me, why you want to set a password in Simatic Manager?? => You need the package SIMATIC LOGON => normally you just need password for your WinCC operators Touch panels and PCS7???? This is certainly not as it should be. In PCS7 "real" PCs are necessary and you use Ethernet-networks (not MPI)... nemo

peters Posts: 122 Rating: (4)	dear nemo: one of my friend told me that there are several CFC projectsrun in his company which including normal project and failsafe block project.when they open normal project and go online it is successful immediately,but if open failsafe block project and go online they need a password.i think it is because that the failsafe block are in higher safety level. when i download the normal project with the help of PLCSIM,it is successful without errors,but if i download failsafe block project an error came out,so it is failed.and my question is: is it because that the PLCSIM is not for failsafe block project so caused this error?

cabreytj Silver Member Joined: 5/18/2006 Last visit: 10/21/2020 Posts: 170 Rating: (64)	When downlooading PCS 7 failsafe to PLCSIM, you must first download the hardware config (that's where the failsafe flag is set, this way PLCSIM then knows it must handle failsafe logic). Once HW Config is downloaded you should be able to download your failsafe logic (using the 'plcsim' hardware password as noted by Perty). You will still need the safety password to do other tasks (like changing parameters online in monitor/test mode etc.) cabreytj
