PC Based vs. PLC

UNIFETFI Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	Hello I am a student of the Degree of TFI (Physical Innovative Technologies) of the University of Ferrara, Italy. I'm doing a project for a month in a company and I need to understand, quite urgently, what does a company in transition from use on their machines to a PLC using a PC Based Logic. In particular, a transition from PLC series S7-300 (312) to industrial type PC SIMATIC Box PC 810. Seeking general information on technical topics, functional, and economic impact on the organization. Thank you very much. Any response is appreciated.
