StillOnMe Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear All, Currently I am facing some issue on how to connect the PC to Sinamic DCM. I have found one pdf online that show how to create a RS232 cable to connect both PC and Sinamic DCM. I tried to make the cable and link both the PC and the Sinamic DCM but failed since I have not change the parameter setting. I check my parameter in the BOP, it did not show any parameter code for changing the access level (P0003). Any suggestion for this problem or any method can suggest to me? KSN Platinum Member Joined: 8/25/2006 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 2211 Rating: (280)	Hello. Did you select Drive object 1 (DO1 - CU) using BOP? p0003 exist only in DO1. Look at the manual, chapters 8.2.2, 9.2.2, 8.4.2.4.

Any suggestion since I wanted to transfer the parameter to the pc so I can check it with the starter software. Thank you so much.

StillOnMe Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I have followed all the instruction from the manual 8.4.2.2 and I am still could not link the pc to the drive. I have check the cable either and still could not connect it. Did you guy try to link it with ethernet cable before? Thank you.

If your end goal is to read parameters from Starter, then why don't you just use Starter? What software are you using and where did you get the driver?

StillOnMe Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi Jeff, Currently I am using Starter software that I got it from this website and I have tried it using the cable that I mentioned in the PDF file and also connect it to RS232 converter to my PC. My steps to link both pc and drive as below. Parameter set for the drive (DCM). 1. Set the P0003 parameter which is the access level to expert 2. Set the parameter P02030 to 3 (Profibus) 3. Set the Profibus address (P0918) to 3 Setting inside the Starter software. 1. Go to Project wizard 2. Find drive online/ arrange drive offline 3. PG/PC set interface - Access Point I change to Device - Set Interface set to serial cable.PPI.1 (change the properties) which is stated in the PDF file I attached before. 4. 3 setting is insert drive if I go arrange drive offline, Type DCM Advanced-CUD, version 1.1 Then when I try to go online, the software mentioned no devices have been found. Any idea for this? Sorry I am still a newbie :D Thank you so much for your help everyone.
