Hello dirdule; I can't quite figure out from your descriptionwhat topology you are trying to setup. Would it be possible to give us a screencapture of your network configuration, or a sketch, so we may understand it better? You could check this out in the meantime: one of the less obvious problems we have with repeaters is the use of the terminator switches that you find onboard. The attachment shows one way to set them, if you have a simple connection from one segment to another, The illustration comes from chapter 5 of the Profibus Networks manual. You can study it to see how to configure the repeater for various topologies: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1971286 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello, I suggest you to take a look at http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1971286. Check there what rules you should take in account when build Profibus network. This includes position of terminal resistor on Profibus connectors... Best regards, Hristo Mihalev |
