Hi, if the project is using classic blocks (non APL) then you need to install the classic library manually. The latest library you must use is V7.1 SP3 Upd4 with faceplate library V7.1 SP3 Upd1. You can download the libraries under the following link under bullet "6. Library": Link |

Hi, OK, do you have a print screen of the error you are getting? Under CFC compile log, go to tab: Module drivers and make a print screen. Do you have a screen of the installed software? and possibly from the old engineering station? If you right click the AS project and check the properties, you can see which software is needed... |

Hello Duccio, My suggestion is as follows from my experience, During the migration of the project, It is needed that we should be having the old APL library on which the blocks were picked and used in chart logic. If you are not going to upgrade the control logic and only about platform migration means, the above-said case is a must. Otherwise, When you are upgrading both the platform and library blocks used in the control logic, you don't need to install the old library. Basically the chart compilation scope with "generate module drive-GMD" is trying to read the system driver blocks used in the program and creates a diagnostics link to it. So, to create module drivers PCS7 takes system function blocks from the relative APL library family. And, past those blocks in @ charts and make the link to all the driver blocks used in the project automatically. If the driver blocks already exist with module drivers, Upon compiling charts with "GMD" scope again, allows it to looks for the changes. If there are some changes, again it attempts to access the APL library which was used to pick the system function of driver blocks. Please read the attached document for more information. I took it from the Chart help library. I hope that upon installation of the old library will solve your module driver error. If possible, you can post the error details you got on the compilation log list for more information. AttachmentSIOS_GMD_1.pdf (231 Downloads) |

Hi, You need to migrate from v7 to v8 to v9 (intermediate steps). You have two possibilities : software update with and without new functionality. I think you will need without using new functions according to your topic. Correct? Please check the manual at the following link: Link . It's available for different PCS7 versions. |

Hello Duccio: The data sheet says the SM (Signal module) is belongs to S7-300 CPU family. But, How did you imported it to the hardware configuration of S7-400 CPU family? Your compilation log shows you are using CPU 417-4H. Did I understand something wrong? please, clarify it. Also, Which type of channel driver block have you used for channel input of this module? Did you check the possibility of using different channel driver block for the signal from this module? |
