PDF Viewer in WinCC

Brock Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Has anyone used a good activeX control for displaying a PDF file in a WinCC screen? I have looked at the WinCC webviewer object and just using the URL but there is limited control over the toolbars and access to the buttons on the webviewer control itself. I would like it to be limited to scroll bars and setting the PDF file. There used to be an OCX with Adobe reader 6.0 but it is not longer supported (I'm told). Any ideas?

Brock Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Are you referring to the WinCC browser control or does Microsoft have a browser control that is available? My problem is hiding some of the controls like navigation, homepage, etc...On the WinCC control you can prevent entering a URL but the homepage button is still visible/functioning... Setting a homepage on the machine to a default 'safe' file is my work-around for now. The other issue then was Adobe reader embedded in the browser... It defaults to having all the control buttons available and the context menu (right-click) lets you unhide if hidden. This gives you access to the 'save as' button and therefore a file explorer window which I do not want (file deletion, renaming possible).... Just looking for some alternatives...

Just right mouse click in the list of controls and choose for "add". With this control you won't have the buttons, url entering etc (exactly what you need). with regards, Ikkezelf

Brock Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks. I will give it a try. Worked great, used the .navigate method and passed in the 'URL' of the pdf file. The only problem is controlling what the embedded adobe reader shows. The right-click context menu is always available and could get access to the file..Save as menu. I will search around and see if that can be disable so the window can be just view only... Thanks again for your help.

Can anyone give some tips, examples? I'm using TIA V13 Rt Professional. I already added the control to a screenwindowat the project. I tested changing some parameters on the properties of the control, but still nothing on the window... My idea is also showning pdf files on it.... but untill now nothing comes up... Thanks,
