Danw, Using the same explanation can i apply it to a DI. In the DI(PB or dry contact ) the Load will be = 24/0.0002. Since the DI is only consuming 2mA. By this logic resistance value comes out to be 12KOhm. Since the input impedance is 3kOhm. So the resistance available for the cable will be 12-3=9 Kohm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

I'm an analog guy and I rarely deal with discrete signals. I just don't know, someone else will have to tackle this one. |
