I make very good use of windows system restore function whenever I have a problem with TIA. I use win7 and win8.1 and the system restore works quite well to set the system back the way it was and allows me to try installing or updating again. Recently though I stared installed TIAV13 with all the updates on two different virtual machines to try them out and they've been working quite well and easy to back up and restore the whole machine. The only problem I have is with PLCSIM using way to much processing resources.
