Problem communicationg to TP177B

candyengineer Silver Member Joined: 5/17/2006 Last visit: 7/12/2022 Posts: 217 Rating: (26)	Dear Siemens forum Members and Experts, That's my first time with wincc flexible, and I could not have made a communication between op and pc. operator panel is TP177B PN/DP Switches are all on position (1,2,3,4) Not no position... Im using S7200 cable. RS232 / PPI Multi Master Cable 6ES7-901-3CB30-0XA0 I don't know how to configure cable switches 1,2 is on (115.2K- baud rate) 3,4,5,6,7,8 are off its green ,ppi light is on. I set Operator Panel as S7 transfer settings ---> MPI properties panel is the only master on the bus is not ticked Address : 10 time out : 10s transmission rate : 187.5 K highest station : 31 Thanks in advance , Best regards Attachment 1.JPG (57 Downloads)

Only 5th one will affect ,others are not important and we dont need to set baudrate for serial comm. But Even I set the values like in docs , still havent transfered. Do I need to play with OP dip switches? on the operator panel switches; if all are up , tx is on , rx and ppi are off if all are down , ppi is on , rx and tx are off Thanks in advance, Best regards,

On PC/PPI cable dip switch 5 must be set to zero position!! Pay attention when you change dipswitches you should disconnect PC/PPi cable from panel!!! In WinCC flexible your Transfersettings should be serial with the right COM port used. In Panel you should enable serial channel and you can select remote control. The first time you can put panel in Transfer mode manual Best regards, Wizard

The Mechanic Posts: 48 Rating: (4)	Hi there, What's the message you're receiving? Does it say you don't have a connection or is there some sort of compatibility message? In that case oyu need to update the firmware with the PC/PPI cable. Did you check the transfer dettings on the panel itself? And did you try it with an ethernet cross cable? Did that work? Are there any other programmes available that are using the RS 232 port? Maybe some programme is claiming the COM port, making it impossible for WinCC flex to reach the port. PLease try to remove the COM port form the device manager and then scan for hardware changes. That could also help solving the problem. Regards, Mechanic

My friend has solved the problem. He has updated the version of OS from wincc flexible CD3 \support\images\mobile_o_tp177b\ img file Interestingly we all changed the swithch positions to "0" (Also #5) Thank you very much for your help .
