Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Import of a Technical Question of the User ALIREZA.KH ALIREZA.KH Hello, I am an electric engineer. I work in a factory and I have passed relay test course. One year after operating substation, most of the SIPROTEC relays such as 7SJ612, 7SJ613, 7SJ642, 7SJ645, 7UT612, 7UT613, and 7UM622, LED Error Red continously appeared, relay went to MONITOR MODE and the followings appeared on the display: MONITOR 01/05 EQUIPMENT DATA 1 USER INTERFACE 2 SYSTEM I-FACE 3 RESET 4 SIEMENS INTERN 5 Relay communication system is MODBUS and time synchronization is done by PDCS PANEL. We separated all of the network cables several times and updated relay frimvers, but ERROR exists yet. We sent one of the relays to Germany and after testing, it showed no problem. Please guide me Thank you,

Subauto Bronze Member Joined: 4/19/2011 Last visit: 2/12/2024 Posts: 37 Rating: (3)	HelloSalatiM, One possibility is that the chosen CT ratio of 7SJ is not same as the field CT ratio. For example if the CT ratio of 7SJ is XX/1 A and the field CT ratio is XX/5 A then the Errore red led will lit. To know the CT ratio of the 7SJ; in DIGSI right click on the 7SJ file and select Object Properties from the context menu then the Properties-Siprotec Device dialog will open, click on MLFB tap, there you can see infront of Nominal Current the CT ratio. If the CT ratio is not same as the field CT ratio then you need to change the CT ratio of 7SJ by changing the jumper inside the 7SJ hardware and for doing this you need to read the 7SJ manual. If the CT ratio is correct then may be Re-Initialize the device by using DIGSI may solve the problem. See attached file: Attachment Monitor.jpg (1420 Downloads)

SalatiM Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello zga, Thanks for your reply and help. I checked the CT ratio, the field and 7SJ configurated CT ratio are equal. In my case, the error appears to be sporadically,the relays looses communications with the master system, and gives me a “SYSINTERR” in the event log. In some cases this problem has a duration of 2-3 seconds, and then the relay gets back to its normal operation and communication, but in other cases the Siprotec relay simply crashes, enter in Monitor Mode and need a complete reset to get back to its normal operation. (LED error lit). I read about this“SYSINTERR” error, and looks like that could be something in the Profibus-DP network. Any advices? (I already contacted Siemens support, still waiting forthe possible causes). Regards. Attachment sysinterr.JPG (1225 Downloads)

Search in google and download "SIPROTEC Communication module,PROFIBUS DP - Communication profile”, chap. “Communication interruption”. and also "SIPROTEC Bay control unit 6MD662/3/4 Communication module PROFIBUS DPBusmapping"

It might have a chance that an error on Profibus-DP may not be the cause, but I´m still waiting for the support reply. If you have any other details about why Siprotec relays present this fail and enter in monitor mode I´d be thankful. Regards.

SalatiM Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello! I discovered that the problem I was having was related with the Time Synchronization method of the relay. The relay was time synchronized with a GPS through one of its electrical ports, receiving a IRIG-B signal, and for some reasons, the GPS that generates the IRIG-B signal was turned off. This IRIG-B signal fault in the electrical port configured for time synchronization led to this relay error. This looks very strange for me, since the time synchronization should be a "acessory function" of the relay, and not stop its primary functions (as line and generator protection) from working if the IRIG-B signal is "disconnected".

AutoGen_75294 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am experance the same with profi bus FMS interapstions that is recentlly showing after 14 years of satsfactory operation now i am having event showing device rest and after resume cousing all output internal relays of open and braking the feed back signals hard wired throuth them. Still waiting for Siemens support
