Hello Jackcaress; This is from memory, so forgive me if I am not a perfect answer. The Profibus address of the CP 342-5 is held by the CPU, through a hardware download, and not in the CP itself. The setting of the Profibus address on a CP 342-5 can be done through the hardware configuration, or through the user program (SFC 58 "WR_REC"). If you have access to the CPU over an MPI connection for example, you can open the hardware configuration, change the address of the CP, compile and download the modified configuration to the CPU. Your CP 342-5 will now respond to the new address. This commissioning manual for Profibus CPs has more information in chapter 3. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/1158693 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello, some statuses are monitored (Master, Slave is running, ...) for some 'general' DP error for specific CP to know (user defined alarm). Then specific only code to set signal to Dispatcher to imediately STOP probably, automatic/manual control is defined. I think signals can flash but if they set that general CP342 error, question is really why, due DP_DIAG parameters. That DP_DIAG block is somewhere executed. Sry, only my opinion, hope others maybe give better and clear info. Link to FAQ about DP_DIAG: DP_DIAG FAQ It's for TIA but can give some look about possibilities, in Step7 v5. Online help or manual Simatic NET can be also helpful. |
