PROFINET s7-1200 with Beckhoff BK9053

Milosh Silver Member Joined: 8/16/2010 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 638 Rating: (12)	Hi all. Did someone do connection between BK I/O devices and s7-1200 CPU? I try with beckhoff gsd v2.25(BK9053) and siemens fw v2.2(1214C), but no success. I need information if that possible?

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello Milosh, I don't know why this should not be possible. What exactly is not working in your case? Can you configure the I/O module as device? Is there no connection established?

The error message is: New I/O access error during process image update /n output will temporarily not be updated. I use CPU1214C. One Beckhoff bus coupler BK9053 and one beckhoff output module (4DO). Device is proprerly configured, but when I want to go online to force outputs the error message shows. CPU red led blinking. I can ping both device. Thanks, Milloš

I searched in S7-1200 system manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/36932465 If you look on the first sentence on page 426 it indicates that the 1200 cpu cannot establish Profinet connection to a non-Siemens device. Maybe you should try open user communication(T_SEND_C..., page 427)

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 3026 Rating: (1055)	Hello Milosh good news first: It should (must)be possible to configure and use non Siemens Profinet I/O devices with an S7-1200 (as of FW 2.0 which is whenI/O Controller functionality was implemented for the 1200). The entry in the manual that Rated Xpointed you too only relates to "other" (non Profinet) communications capabilities (e.g. S7 communications between 1200's and Siemens HMI, open TCP/IP, UDPetc. see also HERE for more). It is a bit unfortunate (well, confusing) that it is all listed under theheader of "PROFINET" in the manual. Not so good news: I have no idea why your application isn't working. As you got it to work with an S7-300 I/O Controller, it should work just as well with an S7-1200 as theI/O Controller. Best I can do for you is to point you to page 470 onwards of the STEP 7 Basic V11.0 SP2 manual which describes the required Steps on how to import a Profinet GSDML file to make sure you haven't missed anything. Should you have a Siemens I/O device handy, it also wouldn't hurt to do a test of it with your S7-1200, just to make sure it isn't a problem of the1200 itself. I hope this helps

The only thing that confuses me now is the name of device. I'm go online assign name bk9053-1,but in properties Isee name like on attached picture (bk9053-1.profinet io-system).
