I will soon have my first project which uses profisafe and I have a couple of quick questions: (Project consists of S7-1500, ET 200 with F modules and several drives) 1. Can I switch (Scalance) profisafe, or do I need a connection straight to my PLC? 2. Similarly, can I daisy chain profisafe and non-safe devices? (I have 3 drives only 1 is safe) 3. Do I need memory cards for my drives? Thanks all!

It seems they use a more generic GSD (XML) file for the drives, while I can also find the exact version. The firmware is also a different revision number. Should I be using the version from the example? I chose the latest possible firmware. The also look different in my HW. Attachment Doc1.pdf (86 Downloads)

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 22453 Rating: (3030)	Hello, for G120 you should not use the GSDML Files because here you can install STARTDRIVE an configure the drives directly in TIA. If you use a GSDML File you normally configure the drive in the external non TIA Tool STARTER. If you use the Latest STARTDRIVE V13 SP1 UPD3 you have the latest FW 4.7 SP3 for the Drives.
