Profisafe STO D435-S7_1500

Goodmorning,

My new challeng is a project with D435 + S120 + S7-1500 Safety. The difference between this one and the previous one is that I need to perform the STO function for S120 managed by Simotion by Profisafe instead of doing with hardware contacts.

Any passage is quite clear for me but the connection of the telegram between PLC and Simotion.

As the past Step7 project I used to wiring Profibus interface and the old S7-300 latched via the hardware configuration as the enclosed picture on the left side.

I share data between the controller via I-Device and Profinet but my suspect is that I can't see any separate folder for safety as the picture enclosed on the right side.

Is this the way to proceed?
Is there anything I'm missing out?

 Hello Pigro (Ciao Pigro),

you are right, the I-Device communication and the Safety (F) communication are two separate things, this is intentional from Siemens, since one is for transmitting "ordinary" data that you can configure, the other is basically for the STOs of the Sinamics and all the other informations (SLS, SBR, ecc) that the Sinamics need.

Of course the Safety communication has its own addresses, it's not so easy to explain you how to do that, but first of all you have to set the Profisafe under the Safety Integrated tab of each drive in the Simotion. It will give you an hexadecimal address that you can change. For example you have 10 motors and you start assigning 0H,1H,2H, ecc . In the attached file I used 100H, 101H, etc , just because I like never start from 0. THis is the F-Address and you must be sure that in Hardware configuration ( see attached file) these addresses are IDENTICAL (incredibly Siemens under Scout talks in HEX, but in HWCFG of TIA talks in DEC, lol :D) .

In the CPU-F address of HWCFG of TIA ( See attached file) you have some addresses, where bit 0 and 1 are the STO.

Example (look always at my picture): to give the STO to Drive_Catena, you must do an F program in Safety PLC which basically do this:

---|Guard1|-------|Guard2|-----|......|-------|GuardN|---------(163.0)

---|Guard1|-------|Guard2|-----|......|-------|GuardN|---------(163.1)

SO actually you are putting at TRUE the 163.0 and 163.1 in safety PLC if the safety conditions are met (so all guards closed, no push button pressed, etc) and the Profisafe transmits those two bits in Profisafe Telegram directly to your DRIVE. And , WOW, it will be enable, because those 2 bits are its STO.

Of course you will never use just the contacts to give the STO, but you should use something of more cool like the E-STOP Safety FB, but if you are familiar with Safety programming under Safety PLC of Siemens , this is pretty easy to do.

In my opinion the hardest part is, under Sinamics, to adapt and add the Profisafe Telegram after the other existing telegrams (105,106, etc), but it's not so terrible, I can help you.

One of my problem is how to find out the information on TIA.

The bottleneck was to click the Simotion instead of X150 (the interface used for connection). As soon as I took a look at Davinator enclosed file I recognized the focus to find out my connection.

The enclosed picture display the condition.

After some test I hope to have time today I guess I can prompt back a positive feedback.

you are just one step closer to final solution (maybe 2 steps).

In the SS you posted you still have not created (or linked) any safety CPU. When you will create (or link) it you will have the F address on the Safety CPU to Link, which contain the STOs of every Sinamics.

The second probable hard step is to configure perfectly the Profisafe Telegram under Sinamics Integrated /CX32-2(s) Telegram handling... (And this is not a "minchiata" to do)....

I also re-mapped the area due to have easy-to-remember address

The enclosed picture put in evidence the structure with safety integrated telegram.

I guess I have time today, because on Monday seems every customer want to be supported with teleservice.....

good for you, everytime with telegrams I cry when I have to do these modifications, I really prefere pure motion control rather than "burocratic" telegram handling (which in other systems (A&B, Schneider, Omron)) does not exist at all...

Good luck with it ;)

And remember the discrepancy time on the F-DI, otherwise you will become crazy ;)
